Here’s some of the things we often get asked. If you can’t find an answer to your question, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Can I bring my own skates?

Yes, of course! At iceHQ, we don’t charge for skate hire, so if you forget them, we still have you covered at no extra charge.

What rental skates do you offer?

We have premium CCM rental skates in both ice hockey and figure skate styles, as well us our clip up rental skates.

What is the minimum age?

3 years and over is the recommended age to enter the ice. For young children who have never ice skated before, we offer skate aids for $5 per hour. Young children can sit on our kangaroos and hold onto the handles while an adult pushes them around. All children must wear a helmet for safety and must not hop off the kangaroo while on the ice. A child cannot be held in the arms of another person at any time while on the ice.

What clothes should I wear?

iceHQ is an ice rink.. so it’s a little chilly - We recommend wearing a warm coat, gloves and thick socks. If you plan to spectate, we have a warm cafe and upstairs lounge to watch and relax.

Is there somewhere to store my belongings?

Yes. we have locker hire available for $5. We also have pigeon holes for shoes. We do not recommend leaving valuable items here, and do not take responsibility for items left in pigeon holes.

I'm not skating, do I need to pay entry?

Spectators are free.

How long are the session times?

During our general public skate sessions, you can stay as long as you like! Check our public skating drop down box for all updated times.

What payment options are available?

Most options are covered - we accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, cash payments and EFTPOS.

Can I bring food?

No, we do not allow any ‘outside’ food and drink (except bottled water) During public skate times, our café prepares a range of delicious hot/cold food and drinks.

Do you have helmets and protective gear?

Yes. We have wrist/elbow and knee guards, as well as helmets in various sizes at skate hire. All protective items are free of charge whilst skating. Please ask our staff if you require these items.
