JSL SEASON 2024 / 2025

The Junior Summer League is back for the summer!!

Want to enjoy summer but still play hockey? The JSL allows you to do both!! Incorporating Sunday games, a November bye round, an early start to the Christmas holidays and a season final before the long weekend in March, we’re ensuring families get time to enjoy the summer as well as play great hockey!

This season iceHQ welcomes back the Dogs, Snipers, Bruins & Inferno, alongside our team of expert coaches!!! …. And this season we’re mixing it up! Some coaches will be swapping teams to give kids the chance to work with different coaches.

All iceHQ coaches are dedicated to growing ice hockey among our juniors and we’re proud to call iceHQ the home of junior hockey over summer!

THIS SEASON:

  • EARLY BIRD registrations come with a free gift!

  • Round 1 commences Sunday, 13th October, 2024

  • Bye week November 24th

  • Christmas break Dec 16th - Feb 1st

Junior B & Junior C

  • 12 regular season rounds

  • Semi Final - 23rd February (2nd v 3rd)

  • Grand Final - 2nd March (1st v winner of semi)

  • Mixed teams - All divisions

  • Carefully selected teams to evenly distribute skill levels

  • Payment options for families

  • Goalies continue to play for free in the JSL!

  • Insurance included in game fees

  • Full ice training on Thursdays

  • Games, Sunday mornings

Junior A

  • 8 Games over 12 rounds

  • October 13th - December 15th (Rounds 1 - 8)

  • No games Nov 3rd & 24th

  • February 2nd - 23rd (Rounds 9 - 12)

  • March 2nd - Grand Final (1st v 2nd)

  • Full ice training on Tuesdays

  • Games, Sunday afternoons

  • Players are eligible to play until the day they turn 18

AGE DIVISIONS

Junior A - Full checking

  • Designed for skill appropriate players based on coach assessment of skill, strength, stamina, physique and history in State Level competition

  • This division will typically house all 17U IHV players + any Defris / Tange players

  • Full ice training on Tuesdays at 6:10pm

  • Sunday afternoon games

  • Players eligible to play until the day they turn 18

Junior B - Modified checking

  • Designed for skill appropriate players based on coach assessment of skill, strength, stamina, physique and history in State Level competition

  • Defris and Tange players are ineligible for this division

  • Full ice, Junior B training on Thursdays at 7:20pm

  • Sunday morning games

Junior C - Non checking (full ice games)

  • Designed for beginner and developing players with prior hockey experience

  • Full ice, Junior C training on Thursdays at 6:10pm

  • Sunday morning games

    *Note: All JSL players must have a full set of their own gear (no hire gear is available for this league)

Junior Summer League Training

Junior Summer League Training will be held on Tuesday & Thursday nights by our expert coaches Steve Belic, Troy Robertson, Jamie Bourke, Jeremy Muir and more!
Get weekly, skill based training from our expert coaches designed to get the most out of your game.

  • Puck control

  • Goalie training

Training Dates - Term 1, 2025 (9 week term)

  • Junior A - Tuesdays: 28th January - 1st April (6:10pm - 7:10pm) - Full Ice Training

    • BYE Week - Tuesday 18th March - There will be NO training on this date

  • Junior B - Thursdays: 30th January - 3rd April (7:20pm - 8:20pm) - Full Ice Training

    • BYE Week - Thursday 20th March - There will be NO training on this date

  • Junior C - Thursdays: 30th January - 3rd April (6:10pm - 7:10pm) - Full Ice Training

    • BYE Week - Thursday 20th March - There will be NO training on this date
