Women's Social League at iceHQ

We're thrilled to continue our new Women's Social League at iceHQ! This league is designed to bring together female hockey players of all skill levels, creating a fun, supportive, and competitive environment. Whether you're just starting out or you've been playing for years, the Women's Social League offers a unique opportunity to connect with others who share your passion for hockey.

Games will be 4pm and 5:15pm Saturdays (each player will play one game per week, you will not be able to choose your time slot)

Based on player feedback we're making some changes for the new season. Games will now have a 3 min warm up, and 3 x 17min periods. Teams size will be increased to a max of 15 skaters.
To provide the best possible game experience for all players, we will be selecting team captains to help structure lines, manage rotations and keep the team running smoothly.

Who Can Join?

Women's Social League is open to all female players aged 14 and up. Whether you're looking to refine your skills, stay active, or simply enjoy the camaraderie of a team sport, this league is for you. Players are welcome to participate in this league in addition to the Rec League.

League Details

• Season Duration: 6 games from January to March 2025

• Game Day & Time: Saturdays at 4pm and 5:15pm (each player will play one game per week, you will not be able to choose your time slot)

• Game Dates:

• January 25th

• February 1st

• February 8th

• February 15th

• February 22nd

• March 1st

• 4-Teams: Now with 4 teams! We will begin the league with 4 teams, allowing us to build a foundation, receive feedback and hopefully expand in the future.

• Rotating Teams: Players will change teams each week, providing a fresh and exciting experience every game.

• Focus on Team Play: Each player will be capped at 2 goals per game to encourage teamwork and ensure everyone has the opportunity to contribute.

• Penalty Shots Instead of Penalties: We prioritise fun and fast-paced action, so instead of traditional penalties, players will take penalty shots.

• Officials: Each game will include one Referee and one Scorer. All games will be livestreamed and live stats will be visible on the scoreboard to help track the 2-goal rule.

Goaltender Information

• Goaltenders will play for free!

• Goalie positions each week will be assigned based on availability.

Registration Details

• Cost: $220 (Insurance included)

• Special Offer: If this is your first season of WSL you will receive a FREE WSL reversible jersey!
  (Goalies do not receive a free jersey, as they play for free)
  *Jerseys have been ordered for this season, players ordering from the 23rd December onwards, we will attempt to get your jerseys here ASAP, but unfortunately we cannot guarantee it will arrive this season

Additional Information

• Limited Spots Available: As this is our introductory summer season, positions will be limited.

• No Fill-In Rule: If a player is unavailable for a game, no substitutes or fill-ins will be allowed. This ensures consistency and fairness for all participants.

• Jerseys: Please note that no jersey numbers will be repeated on the WSL jerseys, numbers will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional jerseys can be purchased
